Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the Health Sciences programs part of the School of Medicine?

    When pursuing a program in Health Sciences at GW, it’s important to note that the Health Sciences programs are separate from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences MD program. Additionally, admission into one of the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences or Clinical Research and Leadership programs should not be mistaken for admission into the MD program.

    When you complete a Health Science degree or certificate at GW, you’ll be well-prepared for a successful career in the Health Sciences industry or to consider applying to the MD program in the future, should that be an avenue you’d like to pursue.

  • Are there support resources available to me during my program?

    Yes, an Academic Advisor will help you register for classes and support you through the course of your studies. And, throughout your program, you’ll benefit from direct access to your professors, the Office of Student Services and online resources that make it easier to collaborate with your peers and instructors. You’ll also have access to 24/7 technical support to ensure you can engage with your coursework without issue.

  • Do the online Health Sciences programs have an in-person requirement?

    While our fully online programs’ classes and coursework do take place remotely, our hybrid classes may have in-person requirements. Speak with your Enrollment Advisor to learn more about your particular program’s requirements.

  • Do online students have access to career services?

    Yes! You’ll have access to all of the support provided by our Center for Career Services, including career coaching, self-assessments, networking opportunities, job search strategies and more.
